SARVESTAN | Reimagining a Forgotten Urban Garden at the Intersection of Order and Chaos
The “Sero-stan” project is a redefinition of a neglected urban park located in southern Isfahan, near Meisami Street. Once a place of community gathering and social vitality, the space had fallen into disuse due to disorganized tree planting and lack of intentional design—resulting in a dark, dysfunctional, and unsafe environment.
Our aim went beyond mere revitalization; we sought to create a spatial framework that encourages reflection on the relationship between humans, nature, and architecture. The site’s existing conditions—with its narrow width (ranging from 11 to 20 meters) and dense vegetation—posed a serious design challenge. Within this fragmented context, we pursued a spatial order born from the natural disorder.
Using fluid and adaptive linear geometries, we generated circulation paths that not only guide movement but also shape moments of pause, gathering nodes, play areas, and zones of tranquility. By addressing the diverse needs of different age groups, integrating subtle lighting strategies, and preserving the existing greenery, Sero-stan has evolved into a layered and responsive public realm.
Sero-stan stands as a spatial dialogue—where order and disorder, nature and design, stillness and motion converge into an immersive environment. A place not just to pass through, but to discover
